Kai, the son of Wayne Rooney, says he will play for Man Utd in 10 years.
Wayne Rooney’s son, Kai, believes he will play for Manchester United in 10 years. The 13-year-old joined United’s academy in 2020, hoping to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a club icon.
Rooney spent 13 years at Old Trafford.
He told SY Football : “I hope in the next ten years I will play in the Premier League for Man United… that’s where I see myself but I have to make it a reality through hard work and everything behind the scenes.”
Kai also revealed that his father is his biggest inspiration. He added: “I know he is a very caring dad because he has helped me overcome difficulties and taught me a lot in life, even just sitting in the car I can hear him talking to all the players like a manager.”
Kai believes he will play for Man Utd in 10 years
Rooney joined Man Utd in 2004 and spent 13 years at Old Trafford.
He is still the club’s all-time leading scorer, having scored 253 goals in 559 appearances.
Despite his father’s incredible Man Utd legacy, Rooney’s son is not really a fan of the Red Devils.
Instead, he supports Everton.
Kai added: “I support Everton. I know people might expect me to support Man Utd but that’s my dad’s cup of tea and I’ll go there.
“I also love Man Utd but my team is Everton.”
Rooney began his dazzling career with the Toffees in 2004 after graduating from the club’s academy.
He returned to Goodison Park after leaving United in 2017.
The 37-year-old player is currently coaching DC United in the MLS.
