Mason Greenwood has reportedly told friends that he will never play for Manchester United again, according to The Sun.

The forward had hoped to return to the club after allegations of rape and assault were dropped in February. However, he has faced opposition from the women’s team and some of his teammates’ WAGs. The club spent 12 weeks investigating the 21-year-old player.

Greenwood, who last played 15 months ago, has now given up and is trying to restart his career abroad. A source said, “Mason thinks he’s finished at United. He’s sitting at home with a sore foot and very frustrated.”

Greenwood told friends that he is done with M.U.

“He wants to play football again but he realizes that his situation is very complicated and that’s his problem. He is determined to return to playing football but he does not think he will ever wear the United shirt again.”

Greenwood was arrested in January 2022 on the aforementioned charges. But the CPS dropped the case after the victim and dozens of other witnesses refused to cooperate. The club’s sponsors are said to want to avoid any association with him.
