Manchester United players Mason Mount, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Lisandro Martinez have been naming their football idols, with some familiar names unsurprisingly cropping up

Mount listed Luke Modric as one of his favorite players to watch, along with Xavi and Iniesta of Barcelona. United fans will be rooting for the 24-year-old to learn from the three greats of the modern era.

His favorite player is Luka Modric, and he admitted as much. There’s also Xavi and Iniesta, of course. Bruno Fernandes chose Ronaldinho as the player who inspired him to take up soccer. United legend Cristiano Ronaldo was Rashford’s pick, while Barcelona’s Lionel Messi was Martinez’s.

Players also talked about their favorite songs on repeat and the foods they eat on “cheat days.” In contrast to Rashford’s Caribbean cuisine choice, Mount opted for Five Guys.

Mount and Fernandes have become close friends off the field. The skipper thinks the Englishman will be a great addition to United’s midfield. “We need players with that kind of aggression and passion, we need players to be like that in the games,” added Fernandes.

These are the kinds of players I enjoy facing, and even more, having on my team, therefore I couldn’t be happier that he’s finally here. And now, instead of being on David’s side, I’m taking up defense for Mason. Since he has joined my cause, I shall spare no effort in his defense.
